My Story

I am not only a Transplant NP but I am also a living kidney donor and a kidney transplant recipient. I donated a kidney to my brother in 1997. In 2008, my remaining kidney failed. I was on hemodialysis for 9 months before I received a kidney transplant from one of my co-workers at the time. I was an EMT at the time of transplant. I went on to become a paramedic. Then a RN and then a nurse practitioner. I went to NP school with the goal of working in transplant after graduation. I was lucky to land a my dream transplant job here at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. I feel very fortunate to work with such a great team and help living donors and transplant candidates achieve their dreams of donation and transplantation.
