We stand with the Black community

We paused our social media in recent weeks so we could listen. There is intense grief in our country, and the need for meaningful change. We stand with the Black community.

Nearly 30% of patients on the national transplant waiting list are Black; 60% are from multicultural communities. We are committed to helping educate about the need for donation, eliminate health disparities and increase access to transplantation.

We thank and support the Association for Multicultural Affairs in Transplantation (AMAT) and the National Minority Organ Tissue Transplant Education Program (MOTTEP) for their work and advocacy, and are honored to serve as a member of the donation and transplantation National Multicultural Action Group with AMAT, MOTTEP, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), National Kidney Foundation (NKF), and the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO).

We will continue to listen, learn, and work for meaningful change in healthcare and community health education. Thank you all for being part of the Donate Life community.
