In an effort to reach more students about the importance of registering as organ, eye and tissue donors, Donate Life America (DLA) is excited to announce our partnership with SODA: Student Organ Donation Advocates.
Founded in 2014, SODA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that inspires and supports student-led donation education and registration efforts on high school, college, and graduate school campuses. With more than 60 chapters across the country, SODA’s student leaders have educated more than 77,000 people about the importance of organ, eye and tissue donors and, to date, have registered almost 6,000 people through National Donate Life Registry campaign pages.
“Our partnership with Donate Life America recognizes the critical role students play in organ, eye, and tissue donation education and registration efforts. DLA’s incredible platforms will allow us to connect with more passionate advocates and save and heal lives together,” says SODA’s Program Director, Nicole Nidea.
Donate Life America is the national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that owns, manages and promotes Donate Life℠, the national logo and brand for the cause of donation. Our mission is to motivate the public to register as organ, eye and tissue donors and provide education about living donation. We manage the National Donate Life Registry at RegisterMe.org and develop and execute effective multi-media campaigns to promote donation. Over the past 30 years, Donate Life America and the Donate Life Community have registered 170 million organ, eye and tissue donors in the United States.
“Partnering with SODA supports Donate Life America’s goals of building new resources for high school and college education, outreach and activation,” says DLA Vice President of Partnerships and Philanthropy, Karen Headley. “DLA recognizes SODA as a best practice in student-led advocacy and looks forward to supporting the growth of students into future leaders and champions of the Donate Life cause.”
